Lost Houses of the South Penines: an exhibition of paintings and stories by Kate Lycett

Cliffe Castle Museum

Sat 11 Feb 2017 - Sun 23 Apr 2017

Over the years many of the grand houses of the South Pennines have disappeared from landscape. Drawing upon plans, photographs and written accounts, as well as the sites themselves, artist Kate Lycett has created a series of paintings which allows us a glimpse at them in their full glory,

The paintings in this exhibition are supported by research and photographs from many local museums, libraries and archives. Amongst them, a photgraph of the Winter Gardens at Oakworth House from the collections of Bradford Museums and Galleries.

Exhibition Launch Saturday 11 February
