Change of Gear
To emphasise the ongoing link that Ilkley has with cycling, this exhibition coincides with the arrival of the Tour De France which passes the Manor House during the Yorkshire stage of the ‘Grand Depart’. It explores the development of the cycle from Boneshakers and Penny Farthings to those familiar to the modern rider, drawn from the collections of Bradford Museums and Galleries.
See how the gear associated with cycling has changed, find out about a cyclists refreshment room once run from the Manor House and browse through literature featuring cycling in a dedicated space within the exhibition.
Proud to be part of Yorkshire Festival 2014, the first Arts & Cultural festival to precede the Tour de France in its 111 year history.
