Street Art: Contemporary Prints from the V&A

Street art has moved away from the painted wall  into the medium of printmaking, creating distinctive, exciting visuals along  the way. Drawn from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s internationally renowned  collection of print, this exhibition showcases work from both established and  emerging street artists from Britain and the rest of the world, including names  such as Banksy, D*Face, Eine, Miss Tic, Shepard Fairey and Swoon. This  exhibition explore recurring themes within their work, including Politics and  Propaganda, Symbols and Characters, Influences and Image making and City and  Street, which looks at the defining element of street art; the urban  environment.  This exhibition is a  snapshot into a vibrant genre that continues to expand, evolve and establish  itself as an art form in its own right.

This is an Art in Yorkshire exhibition.  For more Art Exhibitions linked to this regional initiative, please view the Art in Yorkshire website
