Heads of Art Update and Opportunities Meeting
The next meeting will be held at Cliffe Castle Museum and will take the theme of drawing. 1.30 - 3.30pm practical session and 4 - 5pm for the Student Opportunities Meeting. Places are free but please book a place, to confirm your attendance please email luke.owens@bradford.gov.uk

Welcome to The Manor House’s Learning & Outreach programme. All sessions must be booked in advance. A space for eating packed lunches is available on request. Sessions to suit the specific needs of your class are possible. School Groups are welcome to come on self-guided visits to the Manor House.

Washday Workshop
KS1 QCA History Unit 2, KS2

Children will find out what it was like to do the washing in the past, using washboards, possers, dolly blue and the mangle. 1 ½ hour session, £80 (max 30 pupils)

The Families of Castle Yard
KS2 QCA History Units 11 & 12

Find out just how many people lived in the Manor House in Victorian times using Census information, handling objects, toys and games. 2 hour session, £80 (max 30 pupils)

Getting a Head
KS2 Art & Design

This practical art workshop uses our collection of ancient and beautiful carved stone heads. After drawing the heads children will make their own low-relief clay sculptures. 1 ½ hour session, £80 (max 30 pupils)

Toy Detectives
KS1 QCA History Unit 1

In the setting of this ancient house children discover the difference between toys old and new in a fun session playing toy detective and handling authentic toys from Victorian and modern times. 1 hour session, £60 (max 30 pupils)

Roman Drama ‘Cui Bono?’
KS2 History Unit 6A and KS3

A vivid portrayal of life in Roman times. Working with two actors the children will prepare for the drama involving a Celtic woman and a Roman soldier, and then debate the rights and responsibilities of citizens in role as the people of Roman Ilkley. With self-led activities in the afternoon. Full day session, £150 (max 30 pupils)

Hands-on Romans
KS2 QCA History Unit 6A

Children become archaeologists, looking at historical evidence and what it can tell us about the Romans in this hands-on session using genuine Roman objects and replica armour. 2 hour session, £80 (max 30 pupils)
