Currently we have three interns working with us
Please see below for information about their roles with us.
Becca McGrath - PA to the Museum Manager
Working as PA to the Museum Manager has been a rewarding insight into the ‘behind the scenes’ aspect of Museum practice, through providing administrative support to the Head of Service. It has also afforded me the opportunity to work on my own projects, such as organising an exclusive programme of events for the Friends of the Museums to offer an interesting and stimulating series of events.
Seeing projects through from conception to delivery has helped to demonstrate the many different staff and aspects of work that are involved in delivering a successful event. I feel my placement will be a benefit to my future career in the museum and heritage sector as it has allowed me to have a more rounded appreciation of the work involved in running and managing such an institution.
Gemma Bailey - Curatorial Assistant Intern
I will be working with the Social History and Technology curator on the vast store of objects at Bradford Industrial Museum. We are improving the storage of the collections of Bradford Museums and Galleries to make them more accessible to the public. I am a Fine Art graduate and recently completed my MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies at the University of Manchester.
Salma Patel - Technical Assistant Trainee
I will be using a 3D printer to recreate objects from Bradford Museums and Galleries to make them accessible to the public. We are working in partnership with Bradford College to showcase delicate artefacts never seen or handled before by the public in this way. I am a recent Fine Art Graduate from Batley School of Art specialising in stone sculpture and have exhibited across the country including London, York and at the Saltaire Festival.
