Exhibitions On Tour

One Family, One Tribe - New Model Army

Justin Sullivan - lead singer, song writer and driving force behind cult Bradford band 'New Model Army'. Joolz Denby - band's artist for 25 years, producing album covers, poetry and artist’s commissions. This exhibition presents an unrivalled opportunity for fans to see a unique archive of paintings, photographs, concert footage and objects. The collection is a 'must-see' for fans, highlighting the roles of art and music, bringing together different backgrounds and cultures. The project was launched at the Otley Courthouse on the 25th September with a small part of the exhibition on display, alongside an acoustic New Model Army gig.

New Model Army logo

Only in the most liberal excesses of fusion cuisine and the Womad tent could you find cultural juxtapositions as surreal as was enjoyed at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery on the evening of the tenth of December. Standing in an Edwardian panelled gallery with a vast orientalist canvas depicting an orgiastic scene from an imagined Egypt for a backdrop, Justin Sullivan, lead singer and driving force behind Bradford cult band New Model Army, played an acoustic set to a packed audience of bemused culturati and rapt post-punks of, as they say, a certain age.
