The wedding portrait of the young Mrs Butterfield will then be compared to a wedding portrait of today; a photograph of a young Asian bride in her finery. The whole class will then have the opportunity of dressing up in Mughal period costume and will learn how to draw a portrait of each other. Comparison between contrasting portraits will encourage debate about the nature of portraiture and its links to the lives we lead.
