Heads of Art Update and Opportunities Meeting
The next meeting will be held at Cliffe Castle Museum and will take the theme of drawing. 1.30 - 3.30pm practical session and 4 - 5pm for the Student Opportunities Meeting. Places are free but please book a place, to confirm your attendance please email luke.owens@bradford.gov.uk

Welcome to Bracken Hall’s Learning & Outreach programme.

Bracken Hall Countryside Centre has a small exhibition space and Teaching Room. Below are some of the activities that we have done with school groups. We can also organise other activities with you to suit the needs of your students, the curriculum and the school. Please do not hesitate to contact John Dallas to discuss your thoughts and ideas.

Our Landscape
KS1, 2, 3 & 4 Geography

Look at recent changes in our landscape and follow them back in time to our last glacial period and beyond.
Two hour led workshop. £45 per session. (Max 35 pupils)

Exploring Water Courses
KS2, 3 & 4

In Shipley Glen Valley your class will follow streams from their source to their confluence with the River Aire. Explore the journey the water makes through field sketching, width, depth and speed measurement and by recording biological indicators.

Woodland Sculpture
KS1, 2, 3 & 4 Art and Design

Workshops include themed woodland sculpture using natural materials of wood, bark, leaves, stones and soil. The sculptures can be small or large and can be created by the individual or the group.

Rocks, Soils and Fossils - Sedimentary and Glacial Origins
KS1, 2, 3 & 4 Geography

Field walking and recording back in time to the origins of our landscape from the present to over 300m years ago. Fossil hunting allows us to look for the remains of ancient creatures and compare them to their familiar 'living cousins' today.
Two hours+ led workshop. £55 per session. (Max 35 pupils)
